World II — The Amazon
Sculptures
Creatures born of the Amazon, half plant, that seem to have grown among us.
The forest as a studio
Beings grafted onto our world
Inspired by the Amazon and Bolivian legends, my sculptures give shape to a strange kind of life, halfway between body, plant and animal.

Inspiration
What the forest teaches
In the Amazon, everything grows, entwines and transforms. A root becomes an arm, a seed becomes a shelter, a vine draws a column.
White clay keeps that movement bare, with no color to distract. Glass adds light and water.

The gesture
Porcelain, put to the test
I remember my first porcelain sculpture. Everyone thought it would shatter in the kiln. When it was opened, there it was — fragile, intact, complex.
Porcelain demands control and time. It forces you to keep learning, through molds, firings and losses. To this day, I keep testing its limits.
