FAQ

Making, delivery, returns

A question that is not answered here? Write to me and I will reply personally.

Why are no two jewels ever identical?

Slight variations may exist from one jewel to the next. They are not flaws, but the trace of the gesture, the fire and time.

Each piece is handmade in France, respecting the material and the rhythm it imposes.

Where do you deliver?

Orders are shipped from our workshop in Limoges to France, every country of the European Union, the United States, Switzerland, Australia and Bolivia.

Outside the European Union, orders are sent by DHL express; customs duties and import taxes are calculated and paid at checkout: you will have nothing to pay on delivery.

Shipping costs depend on the country and the method chosen; they are shown before payment.

Where and how is the jewelry made?

Every Sumaq Pacha jewel is made by me, in my studio in France.

I work in small series, from shapes I design and molds I make myself. The process — from modeling to glazing, through successive firings — is fully controlled and cannot be rushed without compromising the piece.

What are the delivery times and carriers?

Depending on your country, you can choose delivery to a Mondial Relay pickup point, home delivery or express. For pickup points, one near your address is preselected and you can choose another right after payment.

For home and express delivery, we hand your parcel to the carrier best suited to your destination (notably Colissimo or Chronopost). In France, allow 3 to 6 business days (2 to 4 for express); elsewhere in Europe, 4 to 9 business days (2 to 5 for express); to the United States, Switzerland and Australia, 3 to 10 business days by DHL express (12 to 18 for Bolivia), customs clearance included. The exact delivery time is shown for each method at checkout; for a made-to-order piece, the making time shown on the product page is added. Once your order has shipped, you will receive an e-mail with the carrier’s name and tracking number. Every parcel is tracked and insured.

How is my jewel protected in transit?

Each jewel is carefully packed to keep it protected during transport.

Can I return a jewel?

Yes. You have 14 days from receipt to withdraw, without giving any reason: use the “Withdraw from the contract here” link at the bottom of the page or write to us at contact@sumaqpacha.net. We then send you a Mondial Relay return label; its cost is deducted from the refund.

If there is a defect, the legal warranty of conformity applies for two years. Full details are in our return and refund policy.

What about a bespoke or personalized piece?

Pieces that are made to measure, modified or personalized (for example with gold initials) cannot be returned, except in the case of a proven defect.

How can I acquire a sculpture?

Small sculptures can be ordered directly on the site, from the Sculptures page.

For large pieces, getting in touch is required: write to me from the Contact page to ask about availability, dimensions and transport.

How are customer reviews checked?

Reviews are collected with the Judge.me app. After each order has shipped, we send a single invitation to leave a review; anyone can also leave one from a product page.

Verification: the verified buyer badge means the author bought the piece from our store; a review without this badge could not be linked to an order.

Moderation: the studio reads every review before it is published, within 14 days at most; after that, it is published automatically. We publish positive and negative reviews alike. A review is only rejected if it is abusive or unlawful, contains personal data, is unrelated to the piece or the order, or is clearly false; its author is then informed by e-mail, with the reason for the rejection.

Incentives: no review is paid for or rewarded.

Order: reviews are shown from newest to oldest; anyone can change the sorting.

Changes and removal: authors can ask for their review to be edited or removed by writing to contact@sumaqpacha.net. We may contact them by e-mail about their review.

Duration: each review stays online for 5 years at most.

Caring for your piece

All our pieces are made of glazed Limoges porcelain, highlighted with fine gold. Clasps are either 14K gold filled or ion-plated (IP) gold 304 stainless steel depending on the model — this is noted on the product page.

  • Avoid knocks. Porcelain is strong but brittle: a fall onto a hard floor can chip it. Take your piece off before sports, gardening, or sleeping.
  • Put it on last. Perfume, hairspray, and creams go on first — their alcohol dulls both the gold highlights and the clasp’s gold finish.
  • Keep it dry. Remove your piece before showering, swimming, or going into the ocean. Stainless steel doesn’t rust, but chlorine, salt water, and repeated soaking wear away the surface gold — just as they attack gold filled.
  • Clean it gently. A soft cloth, dry or barely damp, is all it takes. Never use abrasives, alcohol, solvents, or an ultrasonic cleaner: neither the hand-applied gold nor the IP finish will survive them.
  • Store it in its box. Away from direct light and apart from your other jewelry — repeated rubbing is what wears a gold finish fastest.

Our 304 stainless steel clasps are free of released nickel, lead, and cadmium, compliant with REACH regulations.
